The Climatology and Meteorology Research Group adresses questions concerning key physical, chemical and ecological processes in the context of climate change.
In addition to micrometeorological studies, investigations both of contemporary and past climatic variations are of particular importance. The research is primarily focused on the variability and dynamic aspects of paleoclimate on different spatial and temporal scales.
Beside the statistical reconstruction of the important state variables air pressure, temperature and precipitation, our special attention is directed to the long-term fluctuation of climate patterns, modes and regimes as well as to their correlation with important forcing factors.
